Capparello To Headline in US Debut

ImageAustralia’s Blake Capparello will look to impress the American public when he makes his US debut against Elvir Muriqi over 10 rounds on January 31st.

Capparello and Muriqi will headline the fight card to be held at the Richard J. Codey Arena in West Orange, New Jersey on Superbowl weekend. The event will feature on ESPN’s edition of Friday Night Fights.

Capperallo is currently undefeated in 19 professional fights and captured the IBO Light Heavyweight title in October, easily outpointing veteran American Allan Green. In order to pursue bigger overseas fights and a major title, Capparello was forced to relinquish this belt.

Muriqi, who holds a record of (40-5-0, 24KOs), proves to be a good test and a victory should propel the Australian into the next stage of his career.

This fight will be televised Live in Australia on ESPN on the afternoon of February 1.

Ammann Gets his Chance at Commonwealth Title

ImageAustralian Cruiserweight Daniel Ammann finally gets his opportunity to fight for the Commonwealth Title on the 22nd of Februaruy at Copper Box Arena, London. His opponent will be Englishman Tony Conquest.

Originally set to face Nathan Cleverly for the title in Novemeber, Ammann suffered disappointment when the bout was cancelled due to an injury sustained by Cleverly just days before the scheduled date. Thankfully, the rugged Australian champion he has been given another opportunity.

Ammann, a two time Australian champion holds a record of (29-5-1, 6Kos) and is riding an 8 fight win streak. Conquest has a record of (12-1, 5Kos).
