Hurricane Set To Shake Irish Club

ImageFor the second time since winning it last November, Dennis Hogan (16-0-1, 6KOs) is set to defend his Australian Middleweight title on Sunday (16 March) against Leroy Brown (11-5-1, 5KOs).

‘The Irish Hurricane’ continues to be one of the busiest fighters on the domestic scene, having fought 5 times in the last 6 months of 2013.

The Irishman, now based at Brisbane’s Fortitude Boxing Gym under the watchful eye of Stephen Dellar, has amassed a vocal and loyal support group known as ‘The Green Army’, which follow in support wherever he fights. Luckily this week the troupe only have to travel to Brisbane’s Irish Club where they are expected to pack the house in support of their champion.

The undercard will see Fortitude stable mate and Queensland Super Middleweight champion Faris Chevalier (4-1, 3KOs) attempt to make his first title defence against the rugged Tim Kanofski (12-7, 1KO).

Kanofski is known to never shy away from a fight and has mixed it with some of the best talent Australia has to offer, including Awad, Taylor, Pittman, Quinlan and Fletcher. He proves to be a good test for the Frenchman Chevalier, having just his 6th professional fight.

Hard hitting Cruiserweights Brett Peters (6-1, 5KOs) and Josh Robertson (5-0, 4KOs) will lock horns in a 6 round contest, while Victorian based Irishman Stevie Kelly  (4-1) faces Talalelei Pauga (0-3) in a rematch.

Undefeated Middleweight Dean Mikelj (9-0, 7KOs) also features in a 6 round bout.
